While Adonis Rose is well known as a jazz musician, he is also an educator. After relocating to Arlington as a result of Hurricane Katrina, Rose became intimately involved in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro jazz scene, mentoring music students at The University of Texas at Arlington. He then served six years as Artist in Residence at UTA, as well as the Artist in Residence for Cadillac’s Jazz by the Boulevard Festival, producer of the Keller Jazz in June series, and founder of the Fort Worth Jazz Orchestra, a 501 c (3) non-profit organization. Rose is now Director of the New Orleans Jazz Institute and currently holds a residency at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts.

Rose established the Adonis Rose Endowed Jazz Scholarship as a way to continue his support of UTA jazz students. The endowment awards jazz studies majors who are also enrolled in a big band and combo while attending UTA.

Join Rose in preparing the next generation of jazz musicians by making a gift to the endowment. For more questions about making a gift or setting up a pledge payment, contact Brady Minor, associate director for University Initiatives, at brady.minor@uta.edu or 817.272.9375.
